On Wednesday, August 12, Klubb DÖD & PlusOne invite you to this year's pre-party for the Way Out West festival, which takes place August 13-15th in central Gothenburg! Before it all goes to shit with both The Cure and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on stage – come to us at Monument and warm up properly with three eminent live acts and DJ's. It will be a whole evening to remember!
THE EXPLODING BOY (SWE) – The story of The Exploding Boy begins in Stockholm in January 2006 when Johan Sjöblom and Lars Andersson meet and realize that they share a common passion for the dark but melodic corners of music. Under the name taken from a single B-side with the melancholic masters The Cure, they both also start making music together and soon recruit more members to their darkness, with Nicklas Isgren and Stefan Axell following along on the journey ever since. Fast forward to the winter of 2025 – where they are now a quintet with bassist Mattias Svensson as an added member for several years – The Exploding Boy now has five studio albums and one live album under their belt, where their combination of indie pop, post punk, punk and goth with a peculiar dark hit feel has had an impact far beyond Sweden's borders. As an explosive live act, the band was at the forefront of the Swedish wave of post punk and goth that has conquered not least the alternative scenes in Germany and Central Europe over the past decade. But the band has also invited the American audience to "The Exploding Boy experience" several times. In 2026, the band steps into a 20th anniversary where major festivals such as the German Amphi are already booked, but new tour turns out in Europe are also planned. Also waiting for the winter is a new vinyl release of The Exploding Boys' most cherished album, "Afterglow", which since its release in 2009 has established itself as a classic on the modern post-punk scene.

DEMONEN (SWE) – Demonen is a virtuoso combination of black art and post punk. A bit like Allsång på Skansen stuck in hell and no one sings along. Resonsibilities:
Booking of artists and DJs, logistics and administrations including travel arrangements and accomondation for artists and DJs, catering, liasing with venue regarding technical equipment and staff requirements such as security, producing marketing and promotional materials for visitors (print and digital/SoMe), translation, press and team onsite.
